Kennedy, Destiny
Destiny Kennedy speaks on Luke 7:18-28 and John 1:19-35 in chapel.; John the Baptist, was a man with an incredible prophetic ministry preparing the way for Jesus. What can we learn from John's actions about heralding Christ to the world and to his disciples? What do we have to learn from him about what the life of a disciple might look like? As Christians, we will all encounter people with expectations of Jesus. It is our job as faithful believers to use these opportunities to point people in the right direction. Not only that, we must depend on Jesus and our community too point us in the right direction in times of trouble, when we ourselves are unsure of our expectations. --Description from NU Podcast

Hadley, Hunter
Hunter Hadley speaks on Hebrews 12:1-3 in chapel.; We live in a world full of struggle and hardship. It can be difficult at times to see God's love in the midst of it all. However, Jesus offers us a perspective unlike any other in which we see hardship and discipline as God's affirming love. Embrace the stress and difficulty of life as God disciplines and refines his sons and daughters to make them more like Jesus. --Description from NU Podcast

<summary type="text">Outside the Camp
Fairfield, Madison
As followers of Christ, we are often tempted to live a lukewarm, comfortable life seeking the bare minimum. The author of Hebrews, however, describes Jesus' sacrifice as the ultimate atonement, done outside the city gates, and challenges us the in order to truly follow Jesus, we must accept that this world is not our home. We must actively wait for Christ's second coming and understand that Jesus if often found "outside the camp" (v. 12-13). This is not easily done alone and it is by God's Spirit that we trust His voice and follow him. --Description from NU Podcast

DeMacedo, Jonathan
Jonathan DeMacedo speaks on James 2:1-13 in chapel.; It is important to understand the deep importance of equality within the church and the fullness of life that comes from living in true, Christian community. The theology of permitting sin will be overawed and shown as flawed in comparison to living the full life of Christ. This beginning will serve to draw people to their need for the cross, and will highlight the joys of this inclusive lifestyle. --Description from NU Podcast
