Pastor Christian Dawson speaks on Matthew 6:1-18. Jesus calls His followers to be righteous, more specifically to have a righteousness that goes beyond the Pharisees and the scribes, but with that He gives His followers a warning. Be careful to not practice your righteousness in order to be seen by others. There is a common trap to want to be seen, approved, and rewarded by people, but followers of Jesus must live knowing that they are seen, approved, and rewarded by the Father. This is a whole new way to be human. -- Description from NU Podcasten
Being a follower of Jesus means becoming like Jesus and doing what He did, and this requires teaching. So, one day Jesus sat down on a mountain side, opened His mouth, and taught His followers what it means to be a part of God's people. Jesus' sermon on that mount taught more than bad behaviors that need change but a radical, new way of living, a new way to be human. -- Description from NU Podcasten
